Dubai To Implement Airport Departure Fee

Dubai International Airport will begin collecting a service charge of 35 United Arab Emirates dirham (about $9.50) on departing passengers onJuly 1.The fee will also apply to Dubai’s smaller Al Maktoum International Airport. Children under age 2 will be exempt.

Starwood To Merge With Marriott

Marriott International’s acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts is almost certain to go ahead, after the Chinese consortium led by the Anbang Insurance Group withdrew its offer for the hotel group.

UNWTO: Bright future for Greek tourism

UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai has expressed the confidence of the organisation in the continued growth of the tourism sector in Greece. In 2015, international tourist arrivals to Greece grew by seven per cent to reach 23.6 million, while exports generated by the sector increased by six per cent to €14.2 billion.
